BMA urges government to lift cap on compensation for LGBT veterans

The BMA’s armed forces committee has called on the UK government to reconsider enforcing a cap on the amount paid in reparations to people who were affected by the armed forces ban on LGBT staff.

From 1967 to 2000 an official policy effectively banned from the armed forces anyone who was gay, lesbian, transgender, transitioning because of gender dysphoria, or perceived to be such.
