Dear Editor,
No surprises in this item for readers familiar with the Inverse Care Law (1) , the effect of inequality on health (2), and the level of inequality in the UK (3). Large amounts of money, many motivated people, and innumerable meetings, must have been necessary to confirm what such informed readers already understand all too well. And still there are queues of ambulances outside many A&E departments, and patients wait hours or days in such departments to be treated, sometimes to die earlier than they might otherwise do.
